Nicolas Gomez: Best Final Assignment Evuh
Following the principles of the YouTube video "How Sound Works", I attempted to design a tile that would use the principles of diffusion and absorption in order to create the optimal sound experience for the theater. The geometry behind the tiles isn't complicated, it starts to get interesting in the material and how it can bend. Ideally, this tile would be created in an elastic material that can stretch and bend in order to create a wavy surface. When thinking of how to put it together, I thought that a wireframe skeletal structure can support the elastic material and define the shape. The elastic material can then be stretched around this framework and create an ondulated surface where each tile is constantly changing size and dimensions. As the section above demonstrates, this elastic surface would run across the sides of the theater.
