Liz Dolinar: Looking Out Week 15

This is the Fagerborg Kindergarten by RRA in Oslo, Norway. The project program consists of a series of dynamic and flexible classrooms. Both the exterior and interior feature wood cladding, though the wood and tone are different outside to inside. The wood allows for unique conditions, like this awesome railing screen (below), where light is shone through and shadows are cast through the milled holes in the sheet material. It's interesting to note the differences in the way wood is used - the exterior and most of the interior are clad in thin boards oriented vertically, while conditions like the railing are sheets of presumably plywood.
