fab.Looking Out

Looking Out is a way of doing two things.  1.  Using the internet for more than binge watching Netflix series.  2.  Collecting a tremendous amount of information to share with your colleagues.

We will specifically post work done in WOOD!  This will give us a context for questions about fabrication techniques, and the insane amount of variety you can achieve with it.

While points will be given for specifically ARCHITECTURAL works, do not limit your picks to spacial scales.  The physics of wood fabrication is challenging at any scale….

CONTINUING ASSIGNMENT:  EVERY WEEK, each of you will post ONE PROJECT.  Unlike last semester you should label this!  That way, we can use the search box to pull up just "looking out" posts.  Labeling is to the right of the main "Compose" window…

Post Titles should say "Your Name:  Looking Out Week n"

You can post images or videos.  You can take pictures when you see something great.  After each post a brief (+/- 50 words) description of the author, location, and what interests you about it.  For example:

Bano & Sasso Ocean Shell

This is the Bano & Sasso "Ocean Shell".  It is a large low swept wooden bathtub for people who think of bathtubs as tax shelters.  While it's debated whether this tub actually exists or is only a rendering, it suggests a marvel of engineering in its seamless construction.  Assuming this tub holds roughly 100 gallons of water, it would hold 800lbs!!!
