Carter Nelson: Looking Out Week 02

This glue-laminated timber columns serve as an incredible space making feature at the Bishop Edward King Chapel. These tree like columns branch our like trees and form an interlocking pattern that creates a canopy over the elliptical chapel. The way that the wood reflects light, hides the connections, and articulates the interior spatial qualities magnifies the airy, light quality that the program requires.
