Ana Mernik Looking Out Week 12

Zack showed us a snippet of this project in his lecture on acoustics. It's the Resonant Chamber project by rvtr architects, with consultants at Arup Acoustics. The panels are one of three types: reflective, absorptive, and sound generating. The panels also contain circuit controls that have the processing power of four speakers, and also sense acoustic pressure in the room. The architects determined the optimal geometry and material characteristics using Rhino, our good friend Grasshopper, and a plug-in I haven't heard of yet, called Kangaroo. Other things measured were reverberation time, absorption coefficient, directional amplification, and acoustic response.

And here's a really cool video showing the entire process of making the project.
