Sou Fujimoto Architects designed this wooden house in Japan in 2006. The idea was to stack 350mm square logs of wood in a random manner and make spaces that work ergonomically and experientially, on different scales.
The versitality of lumber is what made it possible to use this one 350mm unit to make an entire house. It was possible to use the same unit in various ways to make ceilings, foors, steps, walls and even furniture.
